DIRECTIONS TO SHILEY FROM THE 5 FREEWAY

Exit Genesee Avenue and head east (away from the ocean). Continue through several traffic lights and turn right onto Campus Point Drive. At the next traffic light, turn left. Turn left again at the next stop sign onto Medical Center Drive and the Shiley Eye Institute will be on your right.

DIRECTIONS TO SHILEY FROM THE 805 FREEWAY

Exit at La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road. Turn west onto La Jolla Village Drive (towards UTC Shopping Center). Turn right onto Genesee Avenue. Continue through several lights and turn left at Campus Point Drive. At the next traffic light, turn left. Turn left again at the next stop sign onto Medical Center Drive and the Shiley Eye Institute will be on your right.

MTS BLUE LINE TROLLEY

Passengers of the MTS Trolley can take the Blue Line and exit at the UC San Diego Health La Jolla stop. Walk 4 minutes towards Medical Center Drive to arrive at the main entrance of the Shiley Eye Institute.

UC SAN DIEGO HEALTH CAMPUS CONNECTOR SHUTTLE

The shuttle service area connects the UC San Diego Health La Jolla trolley station with the La Jolla Medical Center, operating on weekdays, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is a stop in front of the main entrance of the Shiley Eye Institute.

PATIENT PARKING

Self-parking is available in the parking lot across from the Shiley Eye Institute (P760), as well as in the Athena Parking Structure in the numbered Patient/Visitor parking spaces.

Parking rates are:

  • Free: for less than 30 minutes
  • $5.00: from 30 minutes to 3 hours
  • $2.00: for each additional hour after 3 hours
  • $14.00: daily maximum

Pay before you check in for your appointment.

How to pay for parking:

  • Enter your car’s license plate number and follow the instructions
  • At the pay stations using cash (either $1 or $5 bills) or credit card
  • Or via the ParkMobile app using credit card—paying with the app allows you to extend your parking session, set expiration notifications, add up to 5 license plate numbers to your account, and more.

With a disabled placard, parking is free in any patient or visitor spot.
